An Effective Home-Made Windscreen for the VX2000 - VX2100:

VX-2000 with a microphone windscreen made of cheap
air-conditioner replacement filter foam, cut into a rectangle
large enough to fold in half, then folded over the VX-1000/2000
mic from the bottom to the top, with the sides then folded up and
clipped at the top with a small plastic bag clip (small hair clips
can also be used). With this in place, the VX-2000 can be used
in moderate wind without problems. There is little effect on the
sound of the microphone otherwise, and the windscreen can be
left permanently in place. A simpler approach, though, is using
an inexpensive Radio Shack windscreen that is a near-perfect
fit for the VX2000 mic, part number 33-373A
(see:
VX2000 Odds and Ends, fourth photo down).
Another option is using a "fuzzy" mic cover
(See:

).
